Australian terrier - (Aussie)
The australian terriern is a tough terrier in a small size - big dog in a small package!
Originally it was used as a rat dog. The "Aussie" of today is used mainly as company for young and old, but it is also a very sporty and durable dog. The breed is famous for being vigilant (import for the breeds survival in Australia where there are snakes around) and its litheness, qualities that makes it a good companion on a walk in the woods, as a watching dog, in agility or in training obedience. It is a small breed with a big heart!
The australian terriern is a goo companion but it needs a lot contact with the flock leader and relatively much exercise for its size. It is smart, curious, alert and charmy - but it is also stubborn and needs a stable leader/owner. The Australian terrier is often full of energy outdoors but calm inside.
The colour is ”blue & tan” or ”red/sandy”.
Weight: 7 – 9 kilos
Height: ca 25-28 cm
