Border terrier
The Border terrier is from the border between England and Scotland - thats why the name of the breed is border terrier. Its ancesters were made for hunting and the dog was chasing small animals out of their holes or burrows. It was a dog who was strong enough to follow the hunting team (they were going by horse those days) but small enough to get down into the burrows.
The Border terrier is a working terrier and it likes to be active. It is friendly and happy and it doesn't bark so much. It is however a dog ment to be hunted with. All small dogs are regarded as target and are chased by the Border terrier. Other dogs are often good friends however.
The Border terrier has a practical fur easy to handle. Do use a brush once in a while. Trim twice a year.
