Fox Terrier (Smooth Fox Terrier) (Wirehaired Fox Terrier)

The Fox Terrier is a friendly, brave and secure dog. It was traditionally used for hunt - especially fox hunt. It is however a stubborn dog. He needs a good leader and a firm upbringing to be a nice companion. If so he could be a very nice active family dog. The Fox Terrier likes to do things , has a lot of energy an likes to play or come along on long walks.

The Fox Terrier is intelligent but likes to make decisions. It is important to show the Fox Terrier that it is the owners who is in charge right from the beginning. If you want a dog who is a easy taught / fast learner you shouldn't choose a Fox Terrier.

Fox Terrier is in two different versions: Smooth or Wirehaired fox terrier. The wirehaired needs a trim 4 times a year.

The colour is white with black or red (tan) spots. 

Height: maximum 39 cm
Weight: Ideal weight 8,25 kg - bitches a bit less
