Take care of a small dog

When you have a dog of your own, you a fortunate. A dog who loves you, who wants to play with you all the time and who makes a lot of funny things. It is really fantastic!

However, there a few things your should think about:

• A litte dog should be handled carefully. Don´t leave the dog alone with small children. If the dog treats ruffly it could lose faith in people and even turn out to be suspicious or in worst case aggressive.
• Don´t let the little dog walk in stairs when it is a puppy. Carry it up and down until it´s getting older. 
• Be careful when you meet dogs of a larger size - especially if it is a young or a teenage dog. Young dogs want to play and it could be "too much" for your little dog. A big paw could sweep the little dog off his feet.
• IMPORTANT! Treat your little dog as a dog. Don´t pity or spoil it. It is important for the dog to be confident. Bring the dog to different environments; on the bus, in a car and to the city. Your dog has to get used to different things. Remember to let the dog walk beside you as often as possiblet. Sometimes you want to carry the dog. But normally it is good for the dog to walk by himself  - it makes him confident and he gets a feeling that he can handle things on his own..
• You can carry your little dog in a bag. It is important to choose a bag made for dogs. There are several different kind of bags for dog. Some bags have a zip and a net in order to keep the bag ventilated. A good idea is to teach your little dog to travel in a bag when he is a puppy. Put a tasty piece of dogfood or sweet in the bag. Soon the dog learns how to jusp into and out of the bag.
  
  NB. Never force the puppy. Training should be a funny game. This training is very useful because it is very convenient to bring the little dog in a bag.
  
  Besides it is very nice for the dog to have his own home available when you´re travelling or visiting new places. The bag is nice and safe for the dog wherever you are....
   
• You can do the same training with a basked on your bike. Let the puppy get used to it in a pleasant way. Then he´ll happily join you on your tours on the bike.
